Lotus Silk Saree

[Fabric]: Lotus Stem Fiber. The fibre is sourced from a well known and certified supplier who imports the yarn from Myanmar- where the extraction originally takes place. The fabric is woven in the handlooms of Himachal Pradesh, India. The fabric is un-dyed, ready to be embraced as is.

[Button]: Made from Coconut Shell

[Dye]: All our dyes are 100% plant based

[Stitching Thread]: GOTS Certified 100% Cotton thread

[Packaging]: We collect waste denims / canvases from companies/friends/families to make out bags out of them for packaging and later use.

[Tag]: The tag is made from the waste lotus fabric and the logo is stamped on the fabric with walnut dye.

[End of Life]: After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply cut the garment into strips, safe for anaerobic composting at home or commercially.

NO FUSING!!We don't use fusing in our clothes as it is made of adhesive material which is not sustainable.

Important note: Since we are a baby brand, we only do small batch handloom production and vegetable dyes. There is a possibility of minor discrepancies. We consider these weave and dye imperfections as beautifully human. Hope you do too x

Washing Instructions:

- Fill your bucket with cold water, turn your Lotus silk item inside out, and submerge it.

- It comes to washing your Lotus silk item, your best bet is to use a high-quality liquid detergent. Add a few detergent drops into the water and stir it well, then leave your item in the solution for three minutes.

- Gently pull your garment up and down for three to five minutes to remove any dirt.

- Take your garment out from the sink, drain off the water, and rinse under cold water until the detergent has beencompletely washed out. Never wash with chlorine bleach. It can damage your clothing’s natural fibers.

- Use a towel to absorb any excess water from the garment. Never twist or wring out silk and alike garments;doing so can damage the fabric.

- Do not dry in direct sunlight. Exposing your garment too long bursts of sunlight can cause the natural dyecolors to fade or even damage your fabrics.

- Do not tumble dry. Lotus Silk is very delicate and the high temperatures of the tumble dryer can shrink ordamage your silks.

- Check for colorfastness. Some garments may bleed in the wash, so test a damp area by dabbing with a wet,white cloth to see if any color leaks onto it.

Care instructions for plant dyed fabric:

- Wash your clothes only when needed. 40°C - short program. Try airing clothing outside in the shade to freshen it up.

- Don't Let Wet Clothes Sit: Don’t leave wet clothes in a pile or sitting in the machine for too long as this gives the colors time to leach out.

- Don’t dry in the sunlight – always dry in the shade. Sunlight will rapidly fade some dyes.

- Use a gentle and pH neutral washing detergent.
